SATURDAY, AUGUST 25 ~ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm in Classroom Building B
"Introduction to Shamanic Herbalism"

Come join me for an experiential exploration of this vibrant and expansive way of connecting with the plants and utilizing them for healing.  Shamanic Herbalism is the old way of healing with plants. It offers an approach where not only do the
plants heal but they are wisdom teachers. Not only does the plant offer us medicine, they can teach us more deeply who we are. Through dynamic discussion, we will explore several aspects of shamanic herbalism. I will offer experiential exercises outside so that you can listen to the voices of the plants. I will share about many plants that grow around us that we can connect with and craft into simple herbal preparations that will increase health and heal us.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 26 ~ 8:30 am - 10:00 am in Classroom Building B
"Wildcrafting"
Join us as we explore the art of gathering and preparation of herbs. We’ll talk about wildcrafting herbs, when to harvest roots, leaves, flowers and fruit for best results. I will demonstrate making an herbal preparation from one of the local herbs that I gather frequently. I will share about many local herbs, weeds, native plants and herbs from my garden that you can harvest and prepare for nourishment and healing. We will discuss the importance of getting to
know the plants and developing relationships with them and the ethics of harvesting and foraging. We will take time to connect to the plants so that you can listen to their voices.
